Why I’m Passing On Uber
UBER (pass): Uber is a strong business today, but at ~$68 — about 23x assumed normalized earnings and a 4.3% earnings yield versus ~5.3% on the 10-year Treasury — the price offers too little margin of safety for AV disruption. Google and Tesla could erode its hyper-local driver network and mobility economics; delivery and a $10B AV push provide offsets. Interest rises near ~$38, or 13x earnings, and even then only for a 5-10% position.
