Volkswagen (VOW3 Germany): China adds (even more) to restructuring pressure
VOW3.DE (update): Volkswagen cut 2026 reported operating-margin guidance to no more than 1% from 4.0-5.5%, largely reflecting roughly €8bn of Porsche impairments and other charges; adjusted profitability remains near the prior range’s low end and €3-6bn free-cash-flow guidance is intact. The harder question is whether it can restore returns in China, improve BEV economics and restructure Europe while funding more than €10bn of restructuring expenditure.
